Crawley head coach John Yems says his side are prepared to go toe to toe with Championship side Millwall in the Carabao Cup this afternoon (1pm).

The two sides last met in the league cup in 2012 at The Den, with the Reds emerging victorious on penalties and Yems hopes his side can continue that run this time around.

He said: “It’s like any other game we want to win, it will be a tough game against a very good side and having spent time at Millwall you always have to be prepared to go toe to toe with them which hopefully we do.”

Crawley have made nine signings over the summer and Yems is still keen to add more He said: “I’m pleased with every one of them, they have all settled in well.

“There is still a long way to go with everybody, but we are still looking to improve and add to the squad”

The Reds have confirmed that George Francomb will become their new captain, after former skipper Dannie Bulman signed a one-year deal as a player-coach.
