Albion have scrapped plans to host fans for a forum at the Amex tomorrow.
The club will now stage their event via Zoom video link.
Thirty supporters were due to attend a carefully controlled quest-and-answer session at the stadium (7pm).
The event, which sees head coach Graham Potter and deputy chairman Paul Barber answer questions, will still go ahead.
But the club have decided to adhere to new social distancing measures announced last night and which come into play next week.
Barber said: “Even though the government’s new guidelines don’t take effect until next Monday, we have reluctantly taken the decision to change the format of the event as we felt it just wasn’t appropriate to invite a group of fans to the stadium.
“Like everything the club has done during the pandemic, the safety of our staff and supporters is paramount.
“We have held many Q&As online over the last few months which have all been received well by supporters, and we expect Thursday’s forum, hosted by BBC Sussex, to be no different.
“Graham and I are still very much looking forward to it, and I’m sure we’ll get some excellent questions from the fans as always.”
Fans can register for the event via brightonandhovealbion.com.
