Hakim Ziyech will miss the next two weeks due a knee injury he suffered in the recent friendly between the two teams.
Nether Ben Chilwell nor Thiago Silva appear to be on course to play on Monday.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard said Chilwell “is working towards being fit” but has been ruled out.
Silva has arrived in London after his move from Paris St Germain but is not training with his new squad until the weekend.
Lampard said: "I doubt very much he will be in contention for the Brighton game.
Christian Pulisic and Cesar Azpilicueta have both recovered from injuries but Lampard said he will be careful with their playing time.
