Haydon Roberts could get another chance to shine on Carabao Cup night at the Amex.

The ball-playing centre-back from Brighton scored and impressed when a young side went out to Aston Villa last season.

He is among the prospects Graham Potter has been closely monitoring.

The head coach revealed Roberts will have a part to play against Portsmouth.

Potter said: "We have had Haydon Roberts train with us since lockdown so he will be involved.

“Alex Cochrane will also be involved. Rom Yapi will be involved in the group as well.

“Peter Gwargis as well so there will be a few players there that will be involved in the group.”

Gwargis looked very bright for Albion under-21s last week in their dramatic 3-2 defeat at Leyton Orient in the EFL Trophy.

Cochrane was of interest to Pompey earlier this summer as they assessed their left-back options.
