Albion host Manchester United tomorrow afternoon (12:30pm, BT Sport).

However, just where will the key battles take place that could help to decide the match.

Well below are the five battles which could prove decisive:

Bruno Fernandes v Steven Alzate:

The Argus:

This one could be an intriguing battle between one of the best playmakers in the league and one of Albion’s youngsters.

Fernandes was at the heart of everything Manchester United did when they last came to the Amex, scoring a brace in the 3-0 win in June.

The Portuguese attacking midfielder makes United tick with his ability to spot a pass and his eye for a goal.

With Yves Bissouma suspended, Alzate could be tasked with marking Fernandes, if he starts in midfield like he did in the 3-0 win against Newcastle last Sunday.

Alzate is a good at the defensive side of the game and will need to be at his best to stop Fernandes making his mark on the game.

Marcus Rashford v Tariq Lamptey:

The Argus:

Rashford did not make the greatest of starts to the season, with his performance against Crystal Palace in United’s opening Premier League game.

However he did score against Luton in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.

Lamptey has been at the heart of what has been an impressive start to the season for himself and Albion.

The 19-year-old has tormented both Chelsea and Newcastle’s defence, with his electric pace and willingness to get his side on the front foot.

If Manchester United do not force Lamptey to stay back and defend, he could well be on course to turn heads against the Red Devils.

Anthony Martial v Lewis Dunk, Ben White and Adam Webster:

The Argus:

Martial did not have many clear sites of goal against Crystal Palace and when he did, they were not some of his greatest efforts.

Albion’s back three of Dunk, White and Webster go into the game off the back of their first clean sheet of the season in the win over Newcastle.

They will need to be on their toes as if they allow Martial any room to get shots away, it could prove to be a very long afternoon for them.

Neal Maupay v Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof:

The Argus:

Maupay will be in a confident mood heading into the game against United, after scoring a brace in eight minutes at St James’ Park.

With Maguire and Lindelof not be blessed with pace, Maupay will be looking to use his to try and get them on the back foot.

If Maupay does that he could well add to his goal tally.

Leandro Trossard v Aaron Wan Bissaka:

The Argus:

Trossard was once again in fine form in the win over Newcastle making a good run to set-up Maupay for his second goal of the afternoon.

He will be hoping he can cause problems for Wan Bissaka.

Wan Bissaka may have what it takes it terms of pace, but if Trossard can outwit him with some quick thinking he could have a big impact on the game.
