Adam Lallana can help keep Albion on a high as they tackle Manchester United.

But boss Graham Potter must decide whether it is from the start or for a big finish.

The former Liverpool man is in contention for action as the Seagulls host United at the Amex today (12.30pm, BT Sport).

His dramatic late goal at Old Trafford last season kept Liverpool’s unbeaten run alive and was the last of his 22 for the club.

That sort of experience could be valuable on and off the pitch as Albion seek a major scalp.

Potter revealed: “He was on the bench against Newcastle because he had I would say a turbulent week before.

“He is available and I think we have got to be sensible with his minutes.

“The decision is often whether he helps us at the start or the end of the game. I think he showed his experience at the end of the game against Newcastle.

“He came on and immediately impacted the game.

“He was involved in the third goal and defending the box when he needed to. He is that type of character.

“Of course he wants to play but he wants to help, I would say, just as much.”

Lallana made the 18 at Newcastle despite picking up a knock against Chelsea six days earlier and then suffering with a cold in midweek.

He won possession and was involved in the move which followed as Aaron Connolly crowned a 3-0 win on Tyneside.

Potter added: “We just have to be sensible and careful with him but he has been a great help and really important for us.”
