Albion head coach Hope Powell believes their busy schedules has had its pros and cons.

Powell’s side believes play their fourth match in the space of two weeks tomorrow afternoon when they face Arsenal at the People’s Pension Stadium (12:30 pm, BBC Red Button).

And Powell believes the hectic run of games has been both good and bad for Albion.

She said: “It has its pros and cons.

“I think with a run of games you are more likely to pick up injuries, that doesn’t help, fatigue sets in which again can cause injuries.

“So, there is pros and cons to it, a bit of break in between fixtures definitely helps the recovery side.

“Conversely it does help momentum, so I guess it just depends on who you are playing.”

One player who has been particularly shown this season for Albion is goalkeeper Megan Walsh.

The 25-year-old impressed in the 0-0 draw against Manchester City last month and the 3-0 defeat to Manchester United last weekend.

This led to her being nominated for the Barclays WSL player of the month award for September, but she lost out to Arsenal’s Jill Roord.

However, tomorrow lunchtime Walsh will be hoping to deny the Arsenal midfielder when the two sides meet.

And Powell believes Walsh has improved massively since she joined Albion last summer.

She said: “She has been a matchwinner in some cases.

“Against Man City, she showed her class, she is a player born to be in goal and I think she really enjoys her trade.

“She is definitely a shot-stopper and is really unlucky not to win player of the month.

“But again, when we played Man United, she did exactly the same and I believe she got player of the match for that.

“Every game Megan gets better and better, there are still areas she knows she has to work on.

“But I am really thankful we have got her at the club and she is doing well for us.”
