Albion’s new Polish duo are hoping for Nations League action amid rave reviews for their recent showings.

Jakub Moder and Michael Karbownik both impressed in a 5-1 friendly win over Finland.

The Poles have remained in Gdansk as they resume their Group A1 programme at home to Italy tomorrow.

They then play Bosnia-Herzegovina in Wroclaw on Wednesday.

Moder enjoyed his first start against Finland and Karbownik earned his first cap.

They have impressed Polish fans already excited by news the duo had signed up for the Premier League.

Tomasz Wlodarczyk of meczyki.pl said: “Especially Moder was like a very experienced midfielder and and it was his only first match in the first XI.

“Karbownik was a little bit nervous at the beginning “But then got a really good game - very versatile with his position changes “He is our little Joshua Kimmich!

“He started as left-back but went to central midfield and on the wing too. It was a very good pass to Milik (for the final goal).”

Moder will return to Lech Poznan until at least February while Karbownik is on loan at Legia Warsaw for the season.
