Former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher has labelled Lewis Dunk’s sending off in Albion's 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace as the “clearest red card you will ever see”
Dunk was sent off in stoppage time for a two-footed lunging challenge on Palace skipper Gary Cahill when he tried to poke the ball towards goal, as Albion chased a winner.
Gallagher, who refereed 261 matches in the Premier League was shocked by Dunk’s tackle.
Speaking on Sky Sports he said: "I just couldn't believe this tackle. Especially as he comes from such a short distance.
"I couldn't ever remember seeing a tackle like that for a long, long time.
"It is just the clearest red card you will ever see.
"It was two-footed, airborne, and very, very deliberate."
