Graham Potter hopes signing two ex-England internationals has raised the bar at Albion.

Adam Lallana and Danny Welbeck are two high-profile additions as free agents.

Head coach Potter said: "Whenever you bring someone in, you want to improve – that’s the whole idea.

“It doesn’t make sense to bring someone in and you haven’t improved.

“It doesn’t always work out because it’s not an exact science.

“That’s what you see throughout football – people making good decisions, and with good intentions, but it doesn’t quite work out.

"With those two, they have a pedigree, an experience and a quality that is different to what we have and have experienced football at a really high level so that’s good for everybody I think.

“Then it’s about how they can fit in and help out and help our team because no team and no club is the same.”
