This was how Albion’s players rated against West Brom.

Marks and comments take into account the full 90 minutes, though clearly most players were better in the first half than the second.

MATY RYAN 6

Made two saves from Krovinovic, the second of them the best as he moved to his right to parry.

ADAM WEBSTER 6

Skippered the side from the right of a back three. Had to do plenty of work as West Brom had a lot of second-half ball but might be disappointed with his part in the equaliser. Can do better in possession.

JOEL VELTMAN 7

Made a terrific goal-saving block when Gallagher let fly and was a composed figure in the middle of the back three.

DAN BURN 6

Started on the left of a three and then went to left-back in a four. Some good footwork on the ball at times to draw in and commit opponents. Drifted out of position  when West Brom used the space in behind him for their equaliser. Made two important clearances in added time to make sure it wasn’t a defeat.

TARIQ LAMPTEY 6

Was a good outlet in the first half and made a spring-heeled contribution to the goal with his pace and a leap. Less seen of him in the second period.

BEN WHITE 6

Showed what he can bring to that defensive midfield berth when he backtracked to pick off a dangerous cutback as West Brom chased their equaliser. But the Baggies got on top in midfield in the second period.

YVES BISSOUMA 6

A very under-stated evening for someone who tends to catch the eye. Got on the ball at times in the first half and kept it simple but was not really a factor during that tough second half.

SOLLY MARCH 6

His low cross should probably have set up Maupay to at least test Johnstone. That was nicely done but he did not always make the most of promising positions.

ADAM LALLANA 7

Involved in most of what was good about the first half, including the West Brom own goal. Might have gone for goal himself when he instead opted to set up Maupay.

NEAL MAUPAY 5

Finished well when he was offside but was not so deadly when it really mattered with two first-half chances. Still not clinical and composed enough in front of goal on a regular basis.

LEANDRO TROSSARD 6

Buzzed about quite effectively during Albion’s brightest period of the game, the highlights being his pass to send Lallana through and some decent work before the own goal. Took a poor option when he shot tamely at Johnstone but later worried the keeper rather more with a well-struck effort.

SUBS

PASCAL GROSS

Never really had an influence after replacing Lallana.

ALEXIS MAC ALLISTER

A couple of nice moments and was quite composed on the ball.

STEVEN ALZATE

Not much seen of him after he went on late.
