Joel Veltman has been told he is off to a good start in the Premier League.
Now he waits to hear whether he gets the chance to try and repeat a notable triumph at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The Dutch international’s first Prem start, in place of banned Lewis Dunk, passed by quietly as unhappy fans found plenty more to debate after the 1-1 draw with West Brom.
Veltman played the full 90 minutes for Ajax in a 1-0 win at Spurs in the Champions League semi-finals two seasons ago.
Albion go to Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday.
Seagulls head coach Graham Potter said: “It was a straight swap for Lewis to keep everything else the same from Crystal Palace.
“The performance there was good although we were disappointed to only get a point.
“Joel has been working hard, a top professional.
“He obviously wants to play and help the team.
“I think he is one of those players who can play in all those build-up positions.
“I thought he did well in the middle of the three.
“He is composed and good on the ball so I was happy with his performance.”
