Eastbourne Borough manager Danny Bloor is aiming to cause a shock in the FA Cup first round when they take on League One side Blackpool this afternoon at Priory Lane (2:30pm)

The visitors will be the favourites to win, but Bloor admits that could play into his side’s favour.

He said: “They are the favourites to win the game, but they don’t always win especially in the FA Cup.

“In every round, there are upsets, banana skins whatever cliche you want to use.

“We just hope come half-past four that we cause an upset.

“That is the aim, but all the pressure is on Neil and his team.

“We are here to enjoy it from the players, to the management, to the board of directors, to the backroom staff.”

Borough will approach the tie as they did previous rounds against Dorking, Sheppey and Dulwich Hamlet.

Bloor said: “We have done our due diligence on Blackpool, we know their players, the ones that are going to be a threat such as Gary Madine, Jerry Yates and CJ Hamilton.

“But we certainly don’t treat it any differently to others.”

Blackpool are not used to playing on a 4G pitch and Bloor said: “It is something which could be to our advantage.

"Football League clubs are not allowed a 4g surface.

"And some professionals don’t like play on it particularly the senior ones.

“But I will have more of an answer to that after the game.
