Eastbourne Borough manager Danny Bloor hopes they can maintain their good start to the season.

The Sports have picked up 11 points from their first six games in the Vanarama National League South.

And Bloor says it is hard not to be impressed with how his side have begun the campaign.

He said: “I am happy with the start. I think now it is just about maintaining it.

“We obviously had the Blackpool game last weekend.

“But as nice as that was it is history now.

“We now need to go about our business in our usual quiet ways and do as best we can.”

Borough sit seventh in the table as they prepare for their third game in six days, when they face Braintree at Priory Lane this afternoon (3pm).

But has their start to the season altered their aims in the league.

Bloor said: “Not at all. We just want to try and win as many games as we possibly can there is no secret to that.

“Initially everyone would have just hoped we’d maintain our status in the league.

“That is still the aim to get to 40 points as soon as we can and then perhaps we will readjust from there.”

The Sports host Braintree this afternoon.

Borough’s opponents are currently bottom of the table having lost all six of their games in the league.

However, Bloor knows his side cannot afford to underestimate their opponents.

He said:“It will be a very tough game.

“They had a 2-1 defeat at St Albans on Tuesday evening.

“Back in the day you never looked at a league table until after ten games.

“This will be our seventh league game.

“Braintree may be in that position now, but they are a good side, they are well organised and are a strong side.

“So, we will have to treat Braintree as if it was Blackpool or the league leaders Dartford.”

Borough are in great form especially at home.

They have only lost one of their four league games at Priory Lane.

Which was a 3-0 defeat to Dorking Wanders in their opening league game last month .
