Albion have confirmed that their women's Dual Career Academy and Regional Talent Club has been allowed to reopen.
They previously had to close when the new lockdown restrictions came into place as under government rules, boys’ academies could remain open but girls could not as they were not classed as ‘elite’.
Albion had been pushing hard to get this changed in their case.
After submitting risk assessments to The FA which mirrors their protocols for the boys, the FA have allowed them to open their doors again under the elite sports exemption.
Polly Bancroft, who is the women’s and girls’ general manager at Albion said: “We have worked hard to provide equal training conditions for both the boys and girls academies.
“We hope the conditions we provide for female players at the club will help us prevent any further disruptions due to the pandemic.
“We’re hopeful that other clubs can also return to training and will be seeking opportunities for our teams to play fixtures.
“We know our players, parents, coaches and staff are looking forward to seeing our development teams getting back into training and out onto the pitch.”
