Gameweek 9 of the official Premier League fantasy football (FPL) is just around the corner.

One of the toughest decisions for FPL managers is who to put as their captain.

Below are the five players who could be great choices to skipper your side:

Hakim Ziyech, Chelsea:

Ziyech was superb for Chelsea before the international break.

In his last two Premier League games, he has scored his first goal and also provided three assists.

He was a constant threat during their 4-1 win over Sheffield United with his set-piece deliveries and his clever passing and movement.

He will be hoping to continue that on Saturday as Chelsea travel to Newcastle.

Having picked up 11 points in his last match and at only £8.2 million he is a no brainer.

Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United:

Fernandes is another playmaker who was in sensational form in gameweek 8.

He picked up 17 points in the 3-1 win away at Everton, with two goals and an assist.

With West Brom being the visitors to Old Trafford on Saturday night, he could well be worth giving the armband to.

At £10.6 million he does carry a hefty price tag, but one that is worth every penny if he is the same vein of form that he was against Everton.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Everton:

This one could be seen as a bit of a bizarre call given; he has only scored once in his last three games for Everton.

However, Calvert-Lewin has only failed to score in two games this season in their 2-0 defeat to Southampton and the 3-1 loss to Man United prior to the break.

He did score from the spot for England in their 3-0 win over the Republic of Ireland in a friendly last week.

They travel to Fulham on Sunday, where the Everton frontman will be hoping to get back amongst the goals and at £7.8 million why not back him and make him your skipper.

Harry Kane, Tottenham:

Kane has been in impressive form for Spurs this season, scoring seven goals and getting eight assists.

He has hit the back of the net his last two games as well, including from the spot against Albion.

Although Spurs face Manchester City weekend, you would not put it past Kane adding to his tally and given how well he is doing with assists it makes it an even easier decision to give him the armband.

He would set you back £11 million if you want him, but it is well worth the big purchase.

Jamie Vardy, Leicester:

Vardy like Kane has been a tough player to stop.

He is the league’s joint-top scorer with eight goals and has netted in his last three games.

They face Liverpool next, but given the injuries to their two first-choice centre backs, Vardy will fancy his chances of adding to his tally.

At £10.1 million is cheaper than Kane and is a good choice to lead your side.
