Steven Alzate has been told he will get chances to shine.

The Albion midfielder has been out of the side since the first international break, when he played twice in South America.

He had been a regular in the Seagulls’ starting XI until that point.

Action resumes after the second halt for international fixtures as Albion go to Aston Villa today.

Ben White has emerged as a midfield option since then, leaving Alzate on the bench.

But Graham Potter said the Colombia international has plenty to offer.

Albion’s boss said: "It's a big ask to just play week in, week out, central midfield, when you consider where he is at in his career.

"We've got some options as well, different types of profiles of players.

"Ben White has played in midfield, in a particular role which is different to the one Steven would play.

“When you've got the likes of Son or Harry Kane, there is a need to have a slightly different profile in there, for example.

"We're really happy with Steven. We're supporting him and we want to try to help him improve.

“He'll have some time again, that's for sure, and he'll have a big part to play again this season, I'm pretty sure of that.
