Albion beat Aston Villa 2-1 in the Premier League to secure their first ever win at Villa Park on their 13th attempt.

The Seagulls took the lead in the 12th minute, as Adam Lallana picked out Danny Welbeck on the break and he ran towards goal before dinking the ball over the on-rushing Emiliano Martinez.

Aston Villa did level the game straight after half time from a free kick. As Bertrand’s Traore’s ball in was put it by the sliding Ezri Konsa.

In the 56th minute, Albion retook the lead after some good play ended with Pascal Gross playing the ball across to Solly March, who then curled the ball into the top corner.

However, Albion went down to ten men late on after Tariq Lamptey picked up two yellows cards late on for challenges on John McGinn and Jack Grealish.

Further drama was added in the 93rd minute, when Trezeguet went down in the box after a coming together with March.

Oliver pointed to the spot. However, VAR suggested he take a second look at on the pitchside monitor.

After a few looks Oliver reversed his original decision and Albion held on for the three points.
