Jurgen Klopp knows how to get the most from his squad – including a fourth choice centre-back.

That is the verdict of former Albion favourite Uwe Huenemeier.

He is well-placed to judge – because he WAS that fourth-choice centre-back when Klopp was Borussia Dortmund boss.

Klopp is making full use his resources at the back.

He will be tested again as his Liverpool side take on Albion without Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez.

Huenemeier, currently top of the player ratings with 2.Bundesliga high-flyers Paderborn, said: “You just needed to watch the Leicester game.

“It doesn’t matter if you are a starter, sub or just a squad player, he treats every player in the same way, that’s why everybody’s performing when needed.

“He is looking for no excuses. You want to give your everything when called up.

“That’s probably his biggest strength, getting 100% out of everyone, every game and in every situation, even when everyone is expecting them to lose or fail.

“He is such a positive character with a big winning mentality.

“Even though I was fourth choice as a centre-half and played in the second team most of the time, he gave me a feedback about my game whenever he was around to watch. That gives you a feeling of importance and creates confidence.

“When we met each other a few years back in our first Premier League season, it felt like it was yesterday.

“We hadn’t seen each other for more than five years and I wasn’t quite sure how it was going to be.

“But as soon as we saw each other in the Amex, he catches you with his big smile and you know, he didn’t forget who you are.

HOW SHOULD ALBION PLAY IT WITHOUT LAMPTEY?

“And then it is more than football, it is about family and life in general.

“I would say, he hasn’t changed at all becoming the manager he is right now.

“That impresses me, because success often change people, but not him.”
