Former Albion striker Tomer Hemed has signed to play in the Australian League.
He has completed a deal with Wellington Phoenix, who are based in New Zealand but play in the A-League.
Hemed has been without a club since leaving Charlton at the end of last season.
He has remained based in London and maintained fitness with private training sessions.
Hemed said: “At the end of last season I sat down with my family and we talked about what would be the next step on my career.
"I’ve played in LaLiga, the Premier League, Championship and fulfilled a lot of my career goals, but we thought it was time to do something more exciting, something special.”
Hemed’s great mate and former Albion colleague Beram Kayal recently got himself fixed up in his native Israel.
Kayal was man of the match on his debut for lowly Bnei Sakhnin as they enjoyed a much-needed win.
