Liverpool defender Andy Robertson says he had “no problem” with the Albion penalty awarded against him.

But he has called for consistency across the Premier League in the VAR age.

Robertson was penalised for a challenge on Danny Welbeck.

Referee Stuart Attwell checked the pitchside screen before pointing to the spot.

Robertson spoke about the incident during today’s press conference called to preview his club's Champions League fixture versus Ajax tomorrow.

He referenced incidents in which spot kicks were not given for challenges on Marcus Rashford, for Manchester United at Southampton, and Adama Traore, for Wolves at Arsenal.

Robertson said: "There are a lot of improvements to be made. We are 18 months down the line and still the same mistakes are being made.

WHAT HAPPENED TO LALLANA AGAINST LIVERPOOL?

“I've got no problem with my tackle being deemed a penalty. But I was watching the games yesterday and seen two very similar instances that went unpunished (on Rashford and Traore).

“For me, either all three have to be penalties or all three aren't penalties.

DID HOOPER LET KLOPP OFF LIGHTLY?

“I think that's where we are struggling a wee bit. We are just looking for consistency.

“We thought we would be getting that with VAR but maybe we aren't getting that just now.

“Too many games are passing by, with people in the studios still discussing referee's decisions, what could or couldn't have been.”
