Pascal Gross has been hailed as a “team player” as he aims to maintain a productive run for Albion.

The German midfielder has been involved in three of the Seagulls’ last four goals as he gets stuck into his second century of Premier League appearances.

Gross was in the Carabao Cup team in early season but is now starting again in the Prem.

Head coach Graham Potter said: “His delivery is excellent, so he gives us that. He gives us an understanding of what we are trying to do.

“A variety of pass and understanding defensively, again, of what we are trying to achieve.

“He’s a team player, he’s in the category of an Adam Lallana or Danny Welbeck in terms of professionalism and what he brings to the group of the pitch.

“So he’s a positive person and, if he is not in the team, he tries very hard to train his best and support the players on the pitch and I think that’s a really good quality to have.

“We’re happy with him and he’s a pleasure to work with.”

Potter agrees the way Gross has worked back into the team is a testament to his character and professionalism.

He added: “Everyone wants to win and have success and feel good about ourselves but life isn’t always like that.

“You get setbacks and frustrations but it’s how you deal with and he deals with it really well, he fights hard, he trains his best, he tries to put things into perspective and then he helps the team and that’s why he’s a top professional.”
