Graham Potter expects Shane Duffy to see out the season at Celtic – and silence his critics.

The Albion boss has played down suggestions from Scotland that the defender’s loan could be cut short in January.

Duffy got off to a flyer with Celtic but has come in for stinging criticism of late as they struggle at home and in Europe.

Their defensive woes have continued when he has not been in the side.

Head coach Potter said today: “It’s a season-long loan, that’s how it has been from the start, that’s how we see it.

“In the season you’re going to get ups and downs.

“It’s a bit of a challenging situation but, knowing Shane, he is a fighter and he’s a good character.
