Ellie Brazil has been praised for winning her long battle against injury.

But Albion will keep an eye on her as she gets back to FA WSL action.

Brazil hopes to feature as fans return for the home game against Chelsea tomorrow (2pm).

She was out for more than a year after rupturing her anterior cruciate ligament and partly tearing meniscal cartilage in the win over Birmingham City at the Amex last year.

The 21-year-old forward went on as sub in last Sunday’s defeat at Tottenham.

Albion boss Hope Powell said: “It has been a long time, about 13 months.

“She had a slight setback which meant she couldn’t get back as early as we had hoped.

“She had to have a second operation, which she came through.

“She has worked really hard. It is really difficult for anybody who has had type of injury.

“Psychologically it’s a bit of a challenge and she has done a lot of work around that.

“On Sunday she came in, she was eager, excited. She is doing well, she is in a good place.

“It gives us a bit more depth to our squad. We were blighted by injuries so we are really pleased to have her back.”

Brazil is now back to full power but Powell said: “It is something we will always manage and look at her loading, her reaction to it.

“But at the moment she is in a good place.”
