Adam Lallana says there are plenty of positives that Albion can build on from their 0-0 draw against Fulham last night.

The midfielder returned to the team as one of six changes for the Seagulls after recovering from a groin problem.

Albion had the best chances of the game with Lallana having a goal ruled out by VAR and Adam Webster hitting the underside of the bar from a corner.

But the 32-year-old admits that despite the positives, they are still far from happy with their league position.

He said: “When we play with the back five as we did last night, we are really solid.

“Rob Sanchez made a couple of big saves and considering it was only his second Premier League appearance I thought he did very well.

“We got a clean sheet, there's many positives to build on, but we're still far from happy with where we are in the table and the points tally, we have.”

Lallana nearly capped off his return to the side with his first goal for Albion.

However, VAR ruled it out for a handball by striker Danny Welbeck in the build-up and Lallana admits he knew the goal would be chalked off.

He said: “Danny knew straight away, he said to me during the celebration that it hit his hand so I kind of expected VAR to overturn it.

“It's a bit of a strange rule that one because his hands are down by his side and it's accidental.”
