Graham Potter said Bukayo Saka opened Albion up as they suffered home defeat.

Alexandre Lacazette scored the only goal 21 seconds after going on as sub.

Potter did not believe the fact the striker had only just gone on caught his side out.

The hosts had plenty of men back as the ball came across from Saka but Lacazette was left in a lot of space as he held back.

Potter told The Argus: “We have tried to press a little bit high initially. I think Saka has done really well on the halfway line.

GRIM YEAR GETS THE FINALE IT DESERVES

“He has shown a great turn of foot and of pace and that creates the opportunity.

“We recovered a bit too fast and that has opened up the space and that is the bit we can do better.

POTTER HAS NO REGRETS OVER LINE-UP

“I don’t necessarily think it is down to the substitution.

“It’s more it is that footballing action which Saka does.

“We didn’t adjust to that well enough.”
