Danny Welbeck is expected to feature for Albion against Wolves.
The former England striker remained unused on the bench as the Seagulls lost to his old club Arsenal last night.
Graham Potter revealed Welbeck was fit enough for, at best, an emergency role off the bench.
But he opted to use Neal Maupay, Solly March and Leandro Trossard as his side chased the game.
Potter also chose not to risk Aaron Connolly, who returned to the matchday 20 after a groin issue.
As expected, Adam Lallana and Tariq Lamptey were absent.
Potter said: “Danny had a slight feeling in the side of his knee after the West Ham game.
“He was okay for the bench but I decided to be safe with him.
POTTER HAS NO REGRETS OVER LINE-UP
“We are okay in terms of that. We have just got to try and get Adam and Tariq back as quickly as we can and as safely as we can.”
Potter has not ruled Lallana out of a return when Wolves visit on Saturday.
He said: “I think Adam is not as bad as we first thought. That’s good, that’s positive.
“An outside chance for Wolves, we will see.”
POTTER SAYS SAKA, NOT THE SUBSTITUTION, CAUGHT OUT ALBION
Potter said Lamptey would probably not be fit for Saturday’s game.
But he added: “He’s not far away so, again, that is good news.”
