On-loan Albion striker Glenn Murray could stay at Watford after their new head coach Xisco Munoz has offered him a second chance.

The 37-year-old has not played for the Hornets since the end of October when he came on the bench and played 16 minutes in their 1-1 draw at Wycombe.

Under previous head coach Vladimir Ivic, Murray had fallen down the pecking order and that led to him looking set to his loan spell cut short by Watford this month.

However, just a day later after Watford were beaten by Huddersfield, Ivic was sacked and was replaced the day after by Munoz.

It is understood that Murray is unhappy about his lack of game time.

While cutting short his loan is still a possibility, Munoz is hoping that a player with Murray's experience will stay at Vicarage Road.

He said:“I think he’s good for us.

“Every time one guy comes in, it’s better for the group and important that the leaders, and the players can stay in our group.

"They have the chance to communicate immediately and adapt to the group, with their new city and they can give their best for us.”
