Davy Propper has been told he can have a part to play in the second half of the season.

The Dutch midfielder impressed as a half-time substitute as Albion drew 3-3 with Wolves.

He potentially offers a midfield option alongside Yves Bissouma.

Albion also need a replacement for Bissouma next time out as he serves a one-match ban at Manchester City.

Propper has been hindered by an Achilles injury this season.

Head coach Graham Potter said: “Davy has had a frustrating season with injuries so it’s nice for him that he has contributed on the pitch.

“He has been an important player for us and we have missed him but we have had to take our time with him and make sure he is right.”

Propper’s ongoing absence from the Albion team is likely to have been noted by top Eredivisie clubs.

But he started the defeat by Arsenal as Potter made changes.

Asked whether he now has a part to play, Potter told The Argus: “If we can keep him right, there is a chance of that because he has got quality.

“The boys enjoyed him being out there and I thought he played well against Arsenal as well.

“It’s good that he’s back.

Propper teamed up with his compatriot Joel Veltman on the right-hand side against Wolves.

Veltman said: “First and foremost, he brings a lot of quality and cleverness on the ball.

“He is also very strong positionally, he always knows where he should be and he can see danger.

“Sometimes I will speak to him in Dutch and sometimes in English, it’s the same with Leo (Trossard), who also knows Dutch.”

Potter is likely to make numerous team changes in the FA Cup tie at Newport on Sunday.

He is likely to further update on Steven Alzate later this week after the midfielder missed Albion’s last two games due to illness.
