Crawley will make a late decision on League Two’s hottest property as they prepare to face Leeds.

Max Watters, 21, is being watched by a host of clubs after scoring 16 goals so far this term.

The striker spotted at non-league Maidstone during the summer was today named League Two’s player of the month for December.

He has a niggling hamstring problem and might not make the FA Cup third round tie on Sunday.

Reds boss John Yems said: “We won’t make a decision on Max, I wouldn’t say, until Sunday morning. He is going to have a fitness test.”

Yems is aware Watters or colleagues could secure a move away from Crawley if they shine before the BBC1 cameras.

He said: “If we lose them it means we’ve done a good job with them.”
