Albion new boy Jakub Moder will not face Newport County on Sunday.
The Poland international has not yet arrived at the club after his loan at Lech Poznan was cut short.
Head coach Graham Potter said: “I think over the next couple of days he will be with us.”
Moder will not be subject to a quarantine period on arrival.
Potter added: “I think will have to take a test and, providing that is negative, he is okay to join in with us.”
With Moder having not played since December 19, his Seagulls debut would appear some time off yet.
