Jayson Molumby has been told he progressed during the first half of the season.

The midfielder could make his Preston debut at Wycombe today after joining on loan.

Molumby was disappointed not to get more game time with the Seagulls after opting not to seek a loan move in the summer window.

But Graham Potter says his time at Albion was well spent.

The Seagulls boss said: “I understand what he means because, when you know Jayson, he wants to play.

“Playing is linked with his Irish ambitions as well.

“But I think he has been playing regularly every day with Premier League footballers which I think has helped him Improve as a player.

“I see an improvement in him and hopefully he can take that to the next stage of his career which is now Preston on loan.

BIG INTERVIEW: PERCY TAU ON HIS LONG, HARD ROAD TO ALBION

“He has not lost time.

“Sometimes footballers think it’s all about game time.

“It is - but it’s also about whether you can improve.

“I think Jayson has. I think the experience he has had with us has been beneficial to him and I think he will benefit from it.

“Just the fact you are playing with better players.

“You have less space, less time. His game speeds up just by being in those situations more often.

“No disrespect to the Championship, that’s just the level difference. Things happen a bit quicker and “I think, as a result of him being in those situations, he has improved that aspect of his game.

“That speed of action and decision-making.”
