How Albion’s players rated in their win against Newport in the FA Cup third round.

Jason Steele 6/10:

Made a mess of a ball over the top, which Padraig Amond pounced on, but he was saved by skipper Lewis Dunk and his goal-line clearance.

Should have claimed the cross which led to Newport’s equaliser.

However, he made amends in the shootout with four great saves.

Ben White 7/10:

A good performance on his return to familiar surroundings.

He Put some good crosses into the box to set up both Alexis Mac Allister and Davy Propper for their chances.

He was replaced by Joel Veltman in extra time.

Adam Webster 6/10:

Made a good clearance to cut out a dangerous low cross from Robbie Willmott.

However, he could not do anything about the own goal late on.

Made up for it in the shootout with a great penalty to send Albion through.

Lewis Dunk 8/10:

Made an error early on and was almost punished by Amond.

The Albion skipper was denied twice by superb saves from Tom King.

He was on hand to clear Amond’s effort off the line.

Alireza Jahanbakhsh 5/10:

Failed to make an impact in the attacking third and was replaced by Percy Tau.

Yves Bissouma 8/10:

Was allowed too much space to dictate things in midfield.

He Had Albion’s first effort of the game which King almost spilled.

Pascal Gross 6/10:

Put in a great delivery to pick out Dunk for Albion’s best chance of the half. Was composed from the spot in the shootout.

Solly March 8/10:

Put in a great delivery from a corner to set up Andi Zeqiri. He scored a superb strike late on to give Albion the lead.

He was replaced by Bernardo.

Alexis Mac Allister 6/10:

Would have wanted to do better with his chance in the first half, after putting his effort straight at King.

He was replaced by Propper.

Neal Maupay 6/10:

Won a couple of free kicks. Saw his effort deflected just wide of the post in the second half.

Andi Zeqiri 6/10:

Was handed his first start for Albion.

Howver, he was denied his first goal when his overhead kick from close range was superbly saved by King.

He then headed over White’s cross in the second half.

He was replaced by Leandro Trossard.

Davy Propper N/A:

Should have done better when White’s cross fell to him, but dragged his effort wide.

Took a good penalty in the shootout when under pressure to keep the tie alive.

Leandro Trossard N/A:

Put in a dangerous cross which was headed behind for a corner.

Made a mess of his penalty in the shootout when he had the chance to win the tie.

Percy Tau N/A:

Showed glimpses of what he is capable of. Had a good chance in extra time, but curled his effort wide.

Bernardo N/A:

Put in a good cross to set up Dunk for a chance.

Joel Veltman N/A:

Did not do much.
