Graham Potter praised Jason Steele’s fabulous performance in the Newport penalty shoot out.
And he thought the first of his four saves – from Josh Sheehan – was the pick of them.
Potter said: “I think he has surprised us with that level of performance in a penalty shoot out.
“The first one especially was a wonderful save.
“To go through with two or three saves and still be in the shoot out, I was scratching my head on the sideline. But he was fantastic.”
Potter has praised Steele in the past for his all-round contribution, even when not in the team.
STEELE RELIVES HIS PENALTY HEROICS
He said: “I’m pleased for Jason because he has been fantastic for us.
“He has supported the players when he has not been in the team.
“He will be disappointed with the goal but overall I thought he did really well.”
