Albion will start their recovery process today before hitting the road again.

But boss Graham Potter accepts they face a tough week.

The Seagulls were taken to an unwanted period of extra-time followed by penalties on a heavy pitch at Newport last night.

Ben White went off holding the back of his thigh in extra-time.

Albion go to Manchester City on Wednesday and Leeds on Saturday.

City had something of a cruise in the cup at home to Birmingham and Leeds do not have a midweek game.

Potter said: “We will have to recover, that’s life.

“That is what we will do between now and the game and we will plan for Manchester City.

“It is what is. That’s the competition. We can’t complain about it.

“We have got a week that is going to be tough for us but it was important for us to go through and show that ambition.”

Albion will check on White today.

Potter said: “It was a long game and he was cramping so he needs to recover.”

The Albion boss will also give updates this afternoon on Adam Lallana and Danny Welbeck, neither of whom were involved at Rodney Parade.
