Albion fans have been told Moises Caicedo is a player to be excited about.

The Independiente Del Valle midfielder is being tipped to be a better player than compatriot Antonio Valencia, who played for Manchester United.

Jose Freire Guti, journalist and director of EcuaGol TV, believes Caicedo is ready to shine in Europe now.

Guti told The Argus: “It’s confirmed here he is going to Brighton and I’ve no doubt he could play a part straight away.

“He’s an excellent player.

“He’s a midfielder with extraordinary physical power, he gets into both penalty areas - both defensively and in attack - has good short and long passing, is technically gifted and is good in the air.

“He can shoot and he is a complete player with enormous potential.

“I believe he could play in the world’s top teams.

“He will go further than Antonio Valencia for sure.”

Albion have yet to confirm Caicedo’s arrival and it is not yet clear what their immediate plans for him would be.
