Crawley striker Max Watters has joined Championship side Cardiff on a three-year deal.

The 21-year-old joined the Reds in October and has impressed for them.

He was their top scorer this season with 16 goals in all competitions.

Watters won the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month award for December.

Crawley Technical Director Erdem Konyar said: “We thank Max for the memorable performances he has given for this football club.

“The deal is a significant element to the financial survival and navigation of this football club. Crawley Town is on the right track and this has to be a catalyst to the philosophy and structure that we are building.

“We must remember the work of John Yems and Lee Bradbury in not only identifying the player, but also the evident successful coaching and development of Max in such a short period.”
