Albion striker Neal Maupay revealed what their game plan was against Leeds.
The Frenchman scored what proved to be the winner in the first half.
The Seagulls did have chances to extend their lead with Leandro Trossard going closest when he hit the bar in the first half.
Maupay was asked after the win what their plan was against Marcelo Bielsa's side, to which he replied: "The plan was to try and keep the ball as much as possible and threaten them in behind because they are really good at pressing the ball.
"I think everything worked well today, we defended together, we attacked pretty well, we had a few chances and restricted them to very little.
"So it was a good game for us today and hopefully we can build on this."
