We put the questions to four long-time Albion fans after seeing their side win 1-0 at Leeds.

What were your thoughts on Albion’s performance?

Colin Beales: This felt like the team was in sync and all put in a shift.

We let Leeds have the ball but stifled them to very few attempts and unlike other games we took a chance to get ourselves ahead and the three points.

James Heasman: This was an excellent, well-deserved victory.

Although I had some doubts regarding the omission of Bissouma, Potter got his tactics right and Leeds had no answers.

Alan Brownings: The performances at Man City and here have given me some hope that we may have found some post-Christmas form, two of the best performances for some time.

Tim Ayling: Not often you can say that we ground it out, but we did. Compact and brave. A wonderful goal lit up a gritty performance.

Who were your pick of the Albion players?

Colin Beales: I could have gone for Ben White against his previous loan club as it was his best performance in midfield, but I have to go with Lewis Dunk.

A flawless performance that set the standards for the clean sheet we needed.

James Heasman: Ben White was outstanding, as was Alexis Mac Allister, Joel Veltman and Adam Webster, but my man of the match was Lewis Dunk.

Alan Brownings: I think Ben White on his return to Leeds, he seemed to find the spaces well and work them to our advantage.

Tim Ayling: Hard to pick out one really. The back 5 and Ben White excelled, but everyone put in a real shift.

What did you think was the key difference this time compared to games when leads were let slip?

Colin Beales: Of course, it’s easy to jump on the bandwagon of taking our chance when we get them, but this performance was more than that.

We allowed Leeds the ball but let them do very little with it and for me it was that defending as a unit that won us this game.

James Heasman: We didn’t concede many set-pieces for starters! Our concentration levels were good, and defensive shape/discipline which is so often lacking when we haven’t got the ball, was more evident.

Alan Brownings: Defensively solid, and when we scored we didn’t try to hold out for 1-0, the substitutions were more positive than simply bringing people on to defend.

Tim Ayling: We played clever, being solid and allowed Leeds no space in the final third.

Sanchez seems to have made a difference on set pieces too.
