Burnley have leapfrogged Albion in the Premier League table after their 1-0 win away at Anfield.
The Clarets were given a penalty in the 82nd minute after ex-Albion striker Ashley Barnes was brought down in the box by Alisson.
He then stepped up and scored what proved to be the winnner.
The win moves Burnley up to 16th and two points clear of the Seagulls, who drop to 17th.
