Albion head coach Graham Potter has warned their FA Cup fourth round tie against Blackpool is no time to relax.

The Seagulls take on the League One side at the Amex this afternoon (3pm, BT Sport Extra 4) before then preparing for a busy schedule in the Premier League in which they have three games in the space of a week.

That begins with a crucial game at the bottom after Burnley’s win over Liverpool, as they host Fulham on Wednesday, who are just below them in the table.

They host Spurs next Sunday and then three days later they travel to Anfield to face Liverpool.

With Albion in a relegation battle, Potter (pictured) was asked whether the FA Cup provided a good opportunity to take a breather and get their minds off the league.

He replied: “This is definitely not a time to be relaxing, playing an FA Cup match against Blackpool because they have knocked out Premier League opposition before (West Brom in the third round).

“They have a strong side from what I have seen and are well coached.

“Neil (Critchley) has done a fantastic job as you can see from his work.

“We are halfway through the Premier League season, so we have got a lot of games to go and every game is big, important and vital but that’s the nature of the league.

“Every week you will get asked about vital games, season-defining games for us it is every week.

“It is a chance to win, a chance for us to improve, a chance to make progress.”
