Graham Potter admitted he was ready to tell Yves Bissouma to stop shooting – until he fired into the top corner.

The Albion midfielder produced a superb 25-yard strike to open the scoring in the 2-1 win over Blackpool.

He had previously been off target from similar range as the Seagulls sought a breakthrough.

One effort, dragged tamely along the ground, was particularly underwhelming.

BISS'S BULLET OR CALDE'S CRACKER?

Head coach Potter said: “We were getting a bit frustrated with him because he had a couple of shots before that were sort of scuffed along the floor.

“When he shot, I was really close to getting frustrated with him again and then you see it fly into the top corner and it’s hard to argue with that.

FULL-TIME VERDICT AS ALBION TRY THEIR LUCK

“He keeps telling me he has got that quality and that ability to strike from distance.

“We are happy for him, happy he has contributed to the game and us getting through to the next round.”
