Albion head coach Graham Potter felt Albion’s front three against Fulham put in their best performances despite not scoring a goal between them.

Alexis Mac Allister, Neal Maupay, and Leandro Trossard were given the nod by the Seagulls in their 0-0 draw against Fulham on Wednesday.

In the game, both Maupay and Trossard missed good chances to put them in front.

However, despite none of them scoring Potter was impressed with their displays.

He said: “I thought Alexis, Leo, and Neal as a front three without scoring played really well.

“But Alexis I think since he has come into the team has shown more and more what he can bring and we are happy for him.”

Maupay, who is Albion’s top scorer this season with seven goals had two good chances to add to his tally in the second half.

The first saw Mac Allister cleverly flick the ball into his path, but the Frenchman blazed over.

His second came after he got on the end of a good low cross from Ben White, but Alphonse Areola made a good save to deny him.

In total Maupay had four shots (two on target and two off target).

But Potter thought that despite Maupay not having the best night in front of goal, his performance was up there with his best.

He said: “Well he wants to score as you say, he wants to help the team.

“But as I have said before forwards don’t just convert 100 per cent of their chances that is not how it is.

“Recently scoring-wise it is three in his last six Premier League games, so he is in a good moment.

“I actually thought from a performance perspective it was one of his best games in terms of how he helped the team, he fought the duels, won lots of balls, held it up for us.

“So, he just has to keep working that is how it is and he reflects the team.”

Albion’s draw against Fulham does mean that their winless run in the Premier League at the Amex continues.

It has now been over seven months since the Seagulls tasted victory at home in the league which came in June against Arsenal.

But Potter hopes they can change that soon rather than later.

He said: “Well it’s an obvious question you ask.

“We have drawn too many games, clearly we want to try and improve the home record absolutely.

“We have picked up points away from home, but it would be better for us to win our games at home.

“We have drawn too many at home but we just have to keep fighting.”
