Graham Potter has revealed why he believes tempers are rising in the Premier League technical area.

The Albion boss says rival coaches are annoying each other in otherwise silent stadia as matches are played behind closed doors.

But he has no plan to get involved in any touchline altercations.

Potter will be operating opposite the usually animated Jose Mourinho when Albion face Tottenham.

He can understand why managers might be clashing more often.

Potter said: “I think the lack of a crowd means that you end up hearing the opposition more.

“That probably makes people a bit more agitated I think is generally what's happening.

“I'm not perfect and just because somebody acts differently to me doesn't necessarily mean I don't think they're better or worse.

MAC ALLISTER URGED TO KEEP SHOWING HIS QUALITY

“It's just that's the beauty of human beings, we're all slightly different.

“I think it's important, no matter what, that you try to be yourself and act with authenticity.

“I don't think you’re right to copy somebody, even though you've got huge respect for them.

“You’ve got to be yourself and then the game is an emotional game and sometimes we act, sometimes we don't.

“At the end you understand that both people want to win, both people are trying their best for the team and then at the end, it's just to wish them the best.”
