Albion hope for another “sensational” Adam Webster display – as the defender starts to attract England talk.

Webster and his colleagues at the back chase a fifth successive clean sheet as they face Burnley today (3pm, Sky Sports).

The Seagulls’ back three of Webster, Ben White and Lewis Dunk have been in formidable form of late.

Albion’s latest clean sheet came in their 1-0 win at Liverpool.

And the first suggestions are starting to be heard that Gareth Southgate should be taking an interest in Webster.

Head coach Graham Potter said: “I haven’t heard anything about that.

“It’s up to Gareth to decide that but we are delighted with Adam.

“I think he has made some progress. I think there is still a lot for him to do as well, which is exciting.

“He is not at his maximum but I thought his performance (at Anfield) was sensational.

“He defended the box really well, was playing with the ball, some really important challenges and tackles.

“I think his was a first-class centre-back performance.”

Lewis Dunk has been capped once by England and Southgate has mentioned White in dispatches.

Potter said: “We are fortunate we have those three and Dan Burn provides competition and cover and is also in that mix as well so we are strong in that area.

“They are all slightly different in terms of what they bring.

ALBION'S ANFIELD WIN VOTED BETTER THAN A 9-0

“But Adam has got some fantastic attributes and he is a great lad.

“He wants to help the team, wants to perform well for the team. We are delighted.”
