Albion could have Tariq Lamptey back in time to face Crystal Palace.

The wing-back misses out on a return to the scene of his Seagulls debut as his side visit Leicester tonight.

But the Eagles’ trip to the Amex a week on Monday is being seen as possible return date.

Lamptey has a hamstring injury and has not featured since going off during the draw at Fulham almost two months ago.

Head coach Graham Potter said: “Tariq is progressing. We are hopeful Crystal Palace maybe.

“That might be a chance for him, depends how he responds, but he is progressing nicely.”

Palace had a host of players missing, including Wilfried Zaha, when they lost 2-0 at Leeds on Monday.

They face Burnley at Selhurst Park on Saturday before thoughts turn to Albion.

Jason Steele, who saved four penalties at Newport in the third round, is in contention for a role at the King Power.

Potter said: “Jason has been ill but he has recovered.

“He hasn’t had a massive amount of training but he will probably be in the squad for Leicester.”
