Graham Potter has revealed why Albion might have been caught off guard at Leicester.

But he said there can be no excuses for the goal which knocked them out of the FA Cup.

Most of the team were back defending when the outnumbered Kelechi Iheanacho headed home from a corner seconds from the end.

Potter said: “You learn in defeat and victory, but more so in defeat because they’re more painful.

“In fairness there was a bit of confusion because Iheanacho was going to get a ball off the pitch and then he wasn’t and then the players are turning around and pretty quickly, with tired minds, the ball is in the back of the net.

“It was a painful lesson for us.

WHY CAICEDO WAS ON THE BENCH AT LEICESTER

“We were sore after the game because we put such a lot into it.

“You think you’re going to extra-time and then you’re not.

“We have to do better and move forward.”
