Pascal Gross says Albion’s frustration against Crystal Palace summed up their season.
He recognises the Seagulls remain in “a dangerous area” towards the foot of the Premier League after the 2-1 reverse.
Gross is encouraged by the chances Albion are creating but said it means nothing without goals and wins.
Albion had a host of openings before going down very late to their old rivals.
Gross said: “We've had a lot of chances but we need to be better at finishing off moves.
“We are getting into good areas and making them positive situations, but it doesn't mean anything without that end product.
“We saw against Palace that we couldn't quite find the all important second goal and that was the story of our season.

“We have to realise where we are in the table – we're in a dangerous area, we need to work hard to earn our wins.
“It's not easy, we need to stick together and look forward now to Saturday.”
