Albion will be hoping to break another unwanted away record at the Hawthorns on Saturday (3pm, Sky Sports).

The Seagulls head to the West Midlands looking for a first league win at their 11th attempt.

In their previous ten league meetings, Albion have lost six and drawn four.

They have only scored three goals on their last five trips to the Hawthorns and failed to find the net in three of those.

The two wins they have managed came in the League Cup in 1976 and the FA Cup in 2019 on their last trip to the West Midlands.

There has only been one meeting in the Premier League between the two sides at the Hawthorns which came in January 2018 where both sides were in similar positions in the table.

Albion headed into the game in 15th place and were three points above the bottom three.

While West Brom sat bottom of the table and five points adrift of safety and it was a game that was a must-win for them.

The Baggies won 2-0 thanks to goals from centre back’s Johnny Evans and Craig Dawson.

That win moved them off the foot of the table and into 19th and just two points adrift of safety.

However, despite the defeat Albion finished the season in 15th place, while West Brom finished bottom and were relegated.

The Seagulls will be hoping to avoid a case of Deja Vu this time round.

They sit 15th in the table and four points above the drop after their 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace at the Amex on Monday and Fulham’s 1-0 win over Sheffield United on Saturday night.

West Brom are 19th and 11 points from safety, but with only 13 games left of the campaign it is a must-win for Sam Allardyce’s side.

On their last visit to the Hawthorns, the Seagulls won 3-1 in an FA Cup fourth-round replay.

That game went to extra time with Glenn Murray coming off the bench to score a brace and send Albion through.

This season has been one of firsts for the Seagulls in terms of winning away from home.

They have ended their long wait for victories at both Villa Park and Anfield in the league, as well as winning at Deepdale at their 17th attempt in the Carabao Cup earlier this season.

If they could end their wait for a win at the Hawthorns it would help Albion take another step closer to securing their top-flight status next season.
