Solly March has targeted pre-season as he recovers from a knee injury.

The wing-back appears to have drawn a line under arguably the best campaign of his career so far.

In an interview for Albion’s own website, he has spoken of his aim to be back out training by the time the current campaign ends.

But it appears his next action will be in the 2021-22 season – with no need to rush his recovery and rehab.

March went off injured during the 1-0 win at Liverpool.

He said: “When you walk into training every day and the lads are outside on the grass and you’re inside in the gym or on the physio bed, it is tough.

“It’s important that you stay positive. I’ve been through injuries before though, so I know what I have to do and I’m still young, so I want to come back better than ever.

“My aim is to be back and fully fit for pre-season at the moment. I hope to be outside before the end of the season.

“That gives me the summer to get fully fit and raring to get back for the new season, I have more than enough time to do that.”

March completes his Prem season with two goals and one assist in his 19 starts plus two games off the bench.

Stats-based website whoscored.com currently have him top of their ratings for Albion players this season, closely followed by Yves Bissouma, Joel Veltman and Lewis Dunk.
